Throughout the summer, we are going ‘back to our roots’.
Following COVID-19 restrictions, alongside the impacts of the current economic difficulties, it’s well documented that both junior and senior football clubs could face financial struggles in the near future.
Thanks to the support of 2022/23 Season Ticket Holders, Barnsley FC are to assist local sides prepare grounds, engage with local players and help fund necessary equipment and improvements.
Once we hit specific milestones in 22/23 Season Ticket sales, money will be set aside and donated to grassroots clubs within the Barnsley borough to aid preparations for the upcoming season.
1,000 sales = £1,000 donation
2,000 = £1,000
3,000 = £1,000
4,000 = £1,000
5,000 = £1,000
6,000 = £1,000
7,000 = £1,000
8,000 = £1,000
9,000 = £1,000
10,000 = £10,000 (if we reach this, we'll double the figure to £20,000)
So, once we hit 5,000 Season Ticket sales, the Club will donate £5,000.
Not only that, we want to bring the grassroots community together. During the summer months, Club staff will volunteer to help get clubs - big and small - 22/23 season-ready. Whether it’s painting goalposts, cutting grass or scrubbing changing rooms, Barnsley FC will be on hand to assist.
Reds Chief Executive Officer, Khaled El-Ahmad said: “Grassroots football is integral not just to Barnsley FC, but to so many within our community. As a Club, we are proud of how strong our local teams are and we want to give back. We have members of our team willing to give up their time over the summer at local clubs and we are very much looking forward to helping our region’s teams both on a financial level and with manual labour!”
More information on how clubs can sign-up for Barnsley FC’s help will be released in the coming weeks.
