Our U23s will be looking to build on their first win of the season when they travel to the Den on Tuesday afternoon to take on Millwall.
Goals from Cameron Thompson and David Bremang fired Barnsley to a 2-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers, with Martin Devaney’s side looking for successive triumphs in the capital on Tuesday.
That win was our young Reds’ first of the season after suffering two defeats in the opening two of the campaign.
Whilst Barnsley are looking to build some momentum, Millwall will be aiming to correct their form, having not won since their opening fixture. The Lions were comprehensively beaten 4-1 in their last outing by Coventry City, with the only goal coming from Alfie Allen.
Barnsley are unbeaten in their last three meetings with Millwall, winning two out of the last three. The most recent clash saw the Reds edge a tight encounter 1-0, with Aiden Marsh scoring the elusive winner back in April.
Both teams find themselves second bottom of their respective Professional Development League groups after three games, meaning it is still early days for either side.
The match kicks off at 2pm at the Den, with updates being provided on our Academy Twitter page (@AcademyBFC), starting with team news at 1pm.
