Following our 0-0 draw with Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon, Markus Schopp says his side need to do more in order to claim three points.

The Reds enjoyed more chances that their visitors from Lancashire but endured a frustrating afternoon at Oakwell with several players coming agonisingly close to finding a breakthrough.

“We know we can do better,” insisted our Head Coach. “I think the performance was not as good as we wanted it. I don’t want to look for certain excuses, but I think from both teams it was not the best performance.

“In the second half, we had the better chances to win the game, but it’s the situation we face right now. It’s only one point and we wanted more; it’s not a question if we want more – we have to earn these points.

“We have to create more and be more decisive in certain moments, like Clarke in the first half where he did everything well but didn’t finish in the right way.”

With a full week until our next assignment at Blackpool, the hard work will continue on the training ground and in the physio room as we aim to get those nursing injuries back into action.

There are a number of our first team set-up currently sidelined, but Schopp says that they are all nearing a return and could feature against the Tangerines.

“First of all, we will recover a couple of guys; I think a couple of guys will be back,” continued the Austrian. “In the practice session, we had Ben Williams and Jordan Williams ready to get back in the team.

“We have Obbi Oularé who is making steps forward and I guess Josh will be back from quarantine. Romal will be back and Liam Kitching will be back. So, we will get more options and that will be good because in some positions we need more competition.”
