BRAD COLLINS POST-FOREST

30 September 2021

Following our disappointing 3-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night, Brad Collins delivered an honest assessment in his post-match interview.

Despite looking comfortable, the Reds surrendered their first half lead as the visitors netted three goals after the hour mark to leave Oakwell with the spoils.

“We were fantastic first half, the second half was awful,” asserted Collins. “I can only say sorry to the fans for that second half performance.

“It definitely wasn’t about switching off; we were in there at half-time saying to be resilient, be hard to beat and keep doing what we’re doing. The first 10 minutes was OK then they started to get in a few times, there were warning signs and, in the end, it was just a battering.”

Up next in the Sky Bet Championship for Barnsley is the visit of Millwall on Saturday afternoon, with the Reds looking to end a run of eight league games without a win.

Our goalkeeper believes he and his teammates need to show togetherness and be resolute if they are to dig themselves out of this spell of poor form.

“We stick together, like we always have after bad results or good results, go again against Millwall on Saturday, which is a huge game now,” continued Collins.

“We want to win football games, no matter if that’s going into the international break, but it’s a massive game and we need a win.”
