JOSH BENSON ON FOREST CLASH

28 September 2021

The young midfielder previewed Wednesday night's clash with Nottingham Forest.

ON THE START TO THE SEASON

“It’s not been the greatest of starts, we can’t hide away from that. We’d all have liked to have got more points by now, but despite that, it does feel to us like things are coming together.

“I think with players returning all the time now, the added options and competition which that brings can only help us. And I genuinely feel like once we get that next win, we’ll kick on from that point.

“It’s about getting that win as soon as we can, hopefully tomorrow night.”

SETTLING IN

“I’m enjoying my time at the club so far, personally, it’s a really good atmosphere, a nice feel to the place and I feel like the style of football suits me.

“It’s about getting on the ball, being brave and trying to express yourself. But it’s a process and naturally that’s going to take some time.

“The lads enjoy playing this way, we are a together group who all get on and when things click, I think we’ll soon move up the table.”

ON MARKUS SCHOPP

“I wouldn’t say he is too intense, but he makes it very clear when things aren’t to his liking. And he certainly wasn’t happy with us on Saturday.

“The first half especially was very poor from us, and like I’ve said, we need to keep our heads down, keep working hard and eventually things will turn for us.”

ON FOREST

“They’ve had a tough start themselves, but like us, they’re in transition I suppose.

“But it’s good to get back to Oakwell, it feels a long time since I last played here, what with the COVID absence.

“I’m enjoying playing in front of fans, they’ve been great with me so far. I hope we give them a result tomorrow night.”
