Cauley Woodrow’s magnificent free-kick against Stoke City has won our September Goal of the Month award.
The skipper took aim from 30-yards and unleashed a rocket that left Joe Bursik completely stranded as it crashed into his top corner to level the scores at 1-1.
Upon receiving this accolade, Woodrow said: “I’m delighted to have won this award; it was a special goal at a crucial time in the game just as we were getting on top and finding a bit of momentum.
“I’ve not really had chance to take many free-kicks in my time at Barnsley, but I was confident stepping up to take this one and I’ll always back myself. Hopefully I’ll have more opportunities between now and the end of the season to add to my tally and help the team move back up the table.”
Everyone at Oakwell would like to congratulate Cauley on his award.
