JO LAUMANN AHEAD OF RAMS VISIT

2 November 2021

Taking interim charge of the first team this week, Jo Laumann spoke ahead of the Rams clash.

ON MARKUS SCHOPP

"Of course, it's always very sad when someone has to leave. Markus was very nice, a really good human being. He was a pleasure to work with, and it's sad for all of us, because we are all responsible for that situation.

"Khaled told us on the day, and I was extremely proud to take over the team in the short-term, to try and make things right. It's nice to have that chance to try and make things better for us.

"I'm honoured to get the trust of the club, and I will do my best with the staff here, who've been amazing, working crazy hours, doing extra jobs to make sure we give it our very best in this next couple of games."

ON LEADING THE TEAM

"I'm excited by it. It's new for me, to be in charge at this level. This is one of the greatest leagues in the world, so for my own development, it's a big thing and I'm so priviliged to have this opportunity.

"No matter what comes after, this is a huge task and I'll be giving everything alongside great staff here, to get a good result on Wednesday night."

HIS APPROACH

"I'm going to change a couple of bits. But we don't have the time to be revolutionary. It'll be a few things I think will help us, to get the best of us.

"In and out of possession, just a little change here and there, that's the plan. And hopefully, we can surprise the opposition with that."

THE UNITY AT OAKWELL

"We're all working hard. Everyone is doing two, three jobs. I feel like I have great support from everyone in the club, I'm so happy with that.

"I just want to give my all, my very best, and I hope everyone can come together, fans, players and staff and make it a positive environment.

"It's not about individuals. It's about us all, as a group, a red family."
