DEVANTE COLE ON POSH TEST

26 November 2021

Ahead of our clash with Peterborough United, Devante Cole addressed the local press.

ON POYA ASBAGHI
“He’s only been here for four or five days, but in the four or five days that he’s been here he’s got us organised; he’s told us how he wants us to play and structure he wants to stick to – that’s the first thing he said, to create a base and I think he’s started to do that.

“He’s starting to get us more organised and you’ve would have seen that out there (against Swansea City). So now, I feel we’ll focus on attacking and, as the weeks go on, I’m sure we’ll get better at it.”

ON TEAM SCORING GOALS
“Overall, it’s a case of everyone coming together. If you look at our forward options, we’ve got a lot, but everyone can bring something. I think it’s just, as we grow confidence, I’m sure goals will come.

“It starts with confidence – it’s confidence for the whole team. We can go and get a good result on Saturday and be lifted, and I think we can just kick on.”

Apologies, this video is unvailable.

ON PETERBOROUGH UNITED
“We’ve just got to stay positive and we need the fans on our side on Saturday. Hopefully, they can support us as best they can and we can get the three points.

“It starts with hard work. If we’ve got a solid base, like we did for 70 minutes against Swansea, then we can go and create and we’ll have more than a chance of winning.”

ON PERSONAL PERFORMANCES
“When you do well and play well, you just want to keep going and get some rhythm, so it’s been hard for me. But I just think all I can do is keep on doing what I’m doing, which is training hard, and when I get my chance, make sure I take it.

“When I’ve played, I’ve felt good; I think I’ve affected things and when I’ve been given a chance I’ve shown what I can do, now I’m just looking forward to playing more and getting some goals.”
