HELIK EARNS PLAYER OF THE MONTH NOMINATION

11 March 2021

Michał Helik is in the running for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award after an outstanding February for the Polish defender!

Michał Helik (Barnsley) - central defender

A stereotypically uncompromising central defender who has developed his game to play out from the back. His love for a physical battle helped Barnsley keep three clean sheets in five games and he even volleyed home the winner against Millwall.

Teemu Pukki (Norwich City) – striker

Pukki’s goal droughts don’t tend to last long. His ability to stealthily step away from defenders and time his runs means he will always create opportunities for himself. Seven goals in as many games took Norwich back to the top.

Ivan Toney (Brentford) - striker

Six goals and three assists from six starts for a striker who is as happy chasing a through ball as he is poaching rebounds. As well as his finishing ability, he has an uncanny knack of making runs to connect with corners and free-kicks.

Harry Wilson (Cardiff City) – midfielder

Superbly managed by Mick McCarthy, Wilson has responded with increased energy and commitment, driving forward at every opportunity to score a delightful curler at Luton and provide assists for teammates in four other games.

ALL WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON FRIDAY 12 MARCH 2021

The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
