With the 21/22 Sky Bet Championship campaign drawing ever closer, the Reds can now confirm a number of pre-season arrangements.
Following a record breaking season, Valérien Ismaël’s side are set to return as excitement builds towards what is sure to be another memorable term.
That atmosphere during the play-off encounter against Swansea City at Oakwell was immense and we look forward to experiencing more of the same, together, throughout the new season.
In anticipation of the Championship kicking off on the weekend of 7/8 August (subject to television picks), a return-to-play calendar has been produced and, as normal, will be followed throughout the summer months.
With further confirmed details to follow in the coming days, we wanted to share our initial plans:
- Thursday 24 June: 21/22 Sky Bet Championship fixtures released and available across official Club channels
- Monday 28 June: Players return to Oakwell for testing/training
Following a number of days working exclusively at Oakwell, the Reds will commence with friendly fixtures and a training camp at Loughborough University.
- Tuesday 6 July: AFC Fylde (A), kick-off 7:30pm
- Sunday 18 – Saturday 24 July: Loughborough University training camp
Further friendly fixtures are expected to be confirmed in due course.
Amendments and additions to the pre-season schedule will be communicated on barnsleyfc.co.uk, along with information regarding the admittance of supporters.
