American forward returns to Orlando City after an impressive spell at Oakwell.
Barnsley Football Club can today confirm that Daryl Dike's short-term loan from MLS outfit Orlando City has come to an end.
The 20-year-old striker joined the Reds in February immediately after making his full international debut - which enabled the deal to go ahead - and quickly made his mark in English football.
A first goal at Oakwell against Stoke City in a 2-0 victory was soon followed up with his first strike on the road; a header at QPR as the Reds won 3-1.
His next effort was a thunderous finish and earned Barnsley a huge three points against Birmingham City. That winning goal was later voted by fans as Goal of the Season.
There were two braces on our travels, in big wins at both Wycombe Wanderers and Luton Town as the Reds continued to surge towards a top six finish, before a diving header back at Oakwell in a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough.
The quick and powerful frontman rounded off his scoring streak for the club in spectacular fashion, acrobatically finishing off a Carlton Morris cross away at Huddersfield Town in a big Yorkshire derby victory back in April.
Whilst the youngster wasn't able to help the Reds get through the Play-Offs, his brief time here in South Yorkshire will live long in the memory.
As a Club, we'd like to thank Daryl for his efforts whilst representing the Reds and wish him nothing but the best in the next stage of what is sure to be an exciting career.
