DANIEL JINADU JOINS THE REDS

4 June 2021

Barnsley Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Daniel Jinadu.

The young goalkeeper joins us following a successful trial period and will link up with our U23s side for the 21/22 Professional Development League campaign, while also providing competition for the first team.

At just 18-years-old, Jinadu has represented England at U15 and U16 level before opting to play for Nigeria, the country of his birth. He started three games for the Super Eagles’ U17s at the 2019 U17 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, reaching the round of 16.

After impressing in 1-0 victories against Ipswich Town and Millwall for Martin Devaney’s set-up, Jinadu will put pen to paper on a one-year deal upon his release from West Ham United.

“I’m absolutely delighted to have signed,” declared Jinadu. “Just to be at such a great club and have the opportunity to continue my career and take the next stage of my career, be at this club and do that.

“Being behind the likes of great goalkeepers like Brad Collins and Jack Walton, being here and being able to learn from them and experience them is just amazing so I’m really happy to be here.”

Everyone at Barnsley FC would like to welcome Daniel to Oakwell.
