ROMAL PALMER PRE-CARDIFF CITY

26 January 2021

Midfielder Romal Palmer was on press duty ahead of tomorrow night and he told us the Reds were in confident mood going into the clash with the Bluebirds.

The 22-year-old has started the last two games for Barnsley and was impressive in particular at the weekend as the Reds saw off Norwich City in the Emirates FA Cup.

Despite being withdrawn at the interval, Palmer feels he did well and is just grateful to be getting rewarded with game-time after working hard on a daily basis.

He told us: "I felt I'd done well but to be fair, I've not played much, so you trust the gaffer.

"We went on and won the game too so that's the important thing.

"I'm very encouraged to be involved. I work hard every day on the training ground to try and earn more minutes. It's been great to start the last two games and I want to keep giving it my best when I get those chances to impress."

The Reds's league form has taken a hit recently, having lost the last three fixtures to the current top three in the division. But it's been a great first half to the campaign all things considered.

Palmer says the players aren't resting on their laurels and need to keep producing to finish as high as possible by the end of the season.

"We're not satisfied in the slightest." Said Romal.

"There's a lot of games, a long way to go. We have to stay focused, keep pushing and see where that takes us.

"We are going into tomorrow night's game full of confidence and looking for the three points we need to push on and get back to winning ways."
