MAGPIE COVID-19 WORKSHOPS

18 January 2021

Barnsley, we need your help.

This is your invitation to work together, and every voice matters.

In Barnsley, we stick together, and we help each other out. In Barnsley, we don’t just talk about things, we do them. So, this is your invitation to have your say as part of a series of conversations taking place in January, to look at how Barnsley can come through COVID- 19 stronger, united and ready to thrive.

Across the UK people are being asked to follow rules, to stay home, to distance and to stay away from friends and loved ones when we need them most. It’s tough. Let’s make sure that the people of Barnsley are safe, understand what’s being asked of them and why.

What do you think matters and what do you think needs to be done to get Barnsley back on our feet? How do you think we should come together to beat this virus? What solutions do you have for the situations we find ourselves in? Through workshops we hope to talk to as many Barnsley folk as we can. We want people who represent the whole of Barnsley, making sure no opinion is left unheard.

That’s where you come in, we need your help in reaching out to your community to get as many voices heard as possible. You’ll know how to do that best; send them an email, send them a text or give them a call. We’d like you or people you know that represent the different voices of Barnsley to sign up to a workshop here.

About the conversation workshops

The conversation workshops will take place from mid-January and each will be around one to one and a half hours. They will be conducted independently by a behaviour change agency, Magpie (wearemagpie.com), and will be run as online video calls, telephone interviews and, in some cases, on the ground via key workers where it is safe and necessary to do so.
