Barnsley Football Club can confirm that Luke Thomas has joined Ipswich Town on loan until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old forward has been limited to just eight starts for the Reds this campaign – the last of which came at Norwich City earlier this month.
Thomas made a flying start to life at Oakwell as he scored the winner on his debut against Fulham before his early-season form resulted in an England U20 call-up for matches against Netherlands and Switzerland.
After finishing the 19/20 term strongly, he carried those performances over to the new campaign and was instrumental as Barnsley eased past Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup.
But the wideman has since struggled for regular starts and will now link up with Paul Lambert’s side who are currently seventh in Sky Bet League One and poised for a play-off push as they look to secure promotion back to the second tier.
Everyone at Barnsley FC would like to wish Luke the best of luck for his loan move.
