ORDER YOUR CARDIFF EDITION OF GROVE STREET

25 January 2021

Up next for the Reds is a Sky Bet Championship clash at Oakwell against Cardiff City on Wednesday evening.

What does that mean?

You’ve guessed it! Another edition of GROVE STREET is available for you to get your hands on!

And, as ever, it is jam-packed with exclusive content especially for you.

We sat down with JACK WALTON, our cover star for this particular issue, to get his thoughts on what has been a productive campaign for himself and Barnsley as he enjoys his first full season between the sticks.

Our 22-year-old goalkeeper has been virtually ever-present in the league this term and is keen to stress that he is still learning in each game and is eager to continue impressing. He also discusses his heroes growing up and lets us know who he believes the very best player in his position is.

GROVE STREET also spoke with the Ice Man himself, DOMINIK FRIESER, who has made the transition from Austrian football to England's second tier seamlessly.

Loved by our coaching staff for his tireless workrate, the energetic forward compares the different styles between Gerhard Struber and Valérien Ismaël and, of course, talks about that goal against Sheffield Wednesday back in December.

Continuing with our slight Austrian theme to this programme, we asked you to submit your questions for MICHAEL SOLLBAUER to answer – and you didn’t disappoint.

Sole goes in depth as he chats about sporting icons, Skittles and, naturally, a new found love of the Inbetweeners.

Next to take on our TEN QUESTIONS challenge is U23s goalkeeper HENRY KENDRICK, who registers quite a respectable score in our football-orientated quiz. Can you do any better? There’s only one way to find out!

GROVE STREET goes behind the scenes with long-serving retail assistant manager, MATT HAGUE, who has been at Oakwell for more than two decades and seen it all. He opens up about the impact that coronavirus has had on the Reds Superstore, how it has changed the way we shop and thanks fans for their continued support during these incredibly difficult times.

There is also an interview with BARNSLEY FC LADIES Chairman, BRETT HAWKE, who updates us on how the team are coping under current restrictions and gives details on how you can donate to their latest fundraising event in aid of Barnsley Hospice.

As well as all the above, NEIL RICHARDSON depicts Reds legend FRANK BARTLETT in his 250 CLUB column, while we have our traditional five pages dedicated to the visitors from South Wales – including LEIGH EDWARDSHOMEGROWN HEROES feature.

Did we say jam-packed? I think we did…
