VOTE FOR YOUR JANUARY GOAL OF THE MONTH

5 February 2021

It’s time to vote for your Goal of the Month for January, in association with AX Soccer Tours.

The Reds progressed to the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup and consolidated their place in the top half of the Sky Bet Championship, with some quality goals scored at all age groups as our academy sides continued their respective play-off pushes.

We’ve narrowed it down to four contenders for our January award and it’s up to you to choose your favourite.

GOAL A – JASPER MOON v COVENTRY CITY U23
Fresh from making his first team debut at the end of December against Rotherham United, Jasper Moon showed he had an eye for goal as he reacted quickest after Isaac Christie-Davies’ free-kick had been blocked by the wall. Our young centre-back was on hand to fire an unerring half-volley into the bottom corner to double the young Reds’ lead.

GOAL B – CALLUM STYLES v NORWICH CITY
It was a game the Reds dominated from start to finish and a goal worthy of winning any encounter. When it looked as though we wouldn’t make the breakthrough, Callum Brittain broke down the right flank and delivered a fine ball that evaded everyone, but Callum Styles swivelled at the far post before slotting beyond Tim Krul to set up a tie with Chelsea.

GOAL C – MADS ANDERSEN v CARDIFF CITY
His first Barnsley goal and one he will remember for quite some time. It appeared as though Dominik Frieser would launch another long throw into the box, but he threw it short to Callum Brittain who returned it to the Austrian. Frieser crossed a wonderful ball into the area that Mads Andersen met with aplomb to crash into the top corner.

GOAL D – CAULEY WOODROW v CARDIFF CITY
Another well worked set-piece routine from the Reds and this time it was our top scorer who was the beneficiary. Alex Mowatt whipped in a delightful free-kick from deep and Cauley Woodrow rose highest to plant a firm header beyond Alex Smithies after bustling his way past two defenders.

Those are our contenders! Watch the video and vote for your favourite on our Twitter page.
