ORDER YOUR BLACKBURN ROVERS EDITION OF GROVE STREET

17 February 2021

We face Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday evening, which means there’s another edition of Grove Street available for you to enjoy.

And, as ever, it’s crammed with exclusive content. So what’s in store for you in this issue?

Our cover star for the visit of Rovers is TOBY SIBBICK. After a couple of frustrating loan spells in Scotland and Belgium, the defender came back to Oakwell in December and is now well and truly back in the fold and putting in a number of fine performances.

We talk to the 21-year-old about those temporary stints away from South Yorkshire, his time before when he first joined the Reds and how he feels now to be given an opportunity under Valérien Ismaël.

Also featuring in this programme is none other than our skipper ALEX MOWATT, who does his second big interview of the campaign for GROVE STREET.

He discusses his time at Barnsley so far and how he has matured over the years, while talking at length about how the Reds are faring this term under the guidance of Ismaël and his high-pressing philosophy.

We go behind the scenes with our Head of Sports Science, JONNY NORTHEAST, who joined the club in November to find out exactly what his role entails.

Having been at Swansea City and also worked across the pond in his previous roles, Jonny fills us in with the day-to-day aspects of working at Oakwell as well as how crucial his role is for the recovery of players – particularly given the sheer volume of games in recent weeks.

From favourite moments in football to best players ever played against, you submitted your questions for CONOR CHAPLIN to answer and the diminutive forward duly obliged in our fan Q&A.

Next to take on our TEN QUESTIONS challenge is U18s defender DANNY BENSON. It’s a solid effort from the youngster, who registers a respectable score. Think you can beat it? Take the quiz and find out.

VAVEL’s STEPHEN IBBETSON pens a poignant column as he longs for the return of supporters to stadia, especially in the wake of our Emirates FA Cup fifth round tie with Chelsea. Oakwell should have been a cauldron of noise that evening, but it just wasn’t the same without you there to enjoy it with us.

As ever, we have five pages dedicated to our visitors from Ewood Park including LEIGH EDWARDSHOMEGOWN HEROES, while NEIL RICHARDSON’s latest 250 CLUB feature depicts Reds legend GARY FLEMING.
