The Head Coach looks ahead to Friday night's clash with the high-flying Baggies.
ON COVID-19
“We have had one case, he tested positive, but he’s feeling okay and he’s at home isolating, so we will see what happens.
“We are testing upon arrival, players and staff. So we are doing all that we can to help combat the virus. I don’t know the percentage, but I believe most of us here are double jabbed too.
“As far as I’m aware, we are playing Friday. It’s out of our control to a degree, we an only do what we can do, and so we are just focused on the match.”
INJURY ISSUES
“There’s a question mark over Cauley Woodrow, he came out of the game at Preston. But other than that I think we are looking okay, it will be a similar group to select from.
“We don’t know how long he will be out, should he not make it for Friday. But we have lots of players here, hungry to take their chance.
“But it would be a big blow if he’s out, we would miss a top player and his leadership too.
“Jack Walton collided with someone in training last week, but he should be back for Friday.”
MAINTAINING A CLEAR FOCUS
“It’s important that we keep focusing on the right things. We know what we are trying to do, what we are working on and then we will win games.
“We can’t beat ourselves up, or remain frustrated. We cannot change the past, but we can improve what is ahead of us. I don’t want to keep talking about what could have been.
“If we have the right focus, the correct mindset, we can turn things around. We have to be positive, especially our younger players, because football is often a mental game, and I’m sure that when we start winning, it will be like a machine and keep going on and on.”
ON VALÉRIEN ISMAËL/WEST BROM
“From what I understand, it’s a simple game and he doesn’t make football too complicated for his footballers.
“As a person, I don’t really know him. But he’s clearly a good coach and did a great job for our club, but he’s just another opponent for me that we want to beat.
“If all of our players hit their personal best on Friday night, we will get the result that we need. We can win this game.”
