Barnsley Football Club and WHOOP, the human performance company, have joined forces for the 2021/22 season naming WHOOP as the “Official Fitness Wearable of Barnsley FC”.
Each player in the first team and academy will be supplied with the latest WHOOP technology to support Barnsley’s data-driven decision-making approach. Through the technology, WHOOP will provide unique data points and metrics to help improve performance, monitor the on and off field fitness and wellbeing of its players, and give insights that provide actionable feedback to its sport science and coaching teams.
The WHOOP branding will also feature on the back of first team home, away and third kit shirts for the 21/22 season.
Having partnered with some of the world’s leading athletes and sporting competitions including the NFL Players’ Association, the PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour and been approved for in-game use by the MLB, WHOOP collects physiological data which helps individuals to optimize their workouts, recovery and sleep. It also identifies changes in respiratory rate with industry-leading third-party validated accuracy. This official partnership with the Reds will help to find new solutions to support our players at all levels.
