We got the thoughts of our young midfielder ahead of Tuesday night's visit of the Hatters.
ON COVENTRY VICTORY
“It was massive to get the three points. As we all know it was a mad ending to the game but Brad (Collins) saved us at the end and so we are all buzzing to have got our first win.
“Especially at home too, to celebrate with our fans who were like the twelfth man I think. They gave us that support, they were there to help us secure that victory, pushing us on until the last kick of the game.”
ON BEING BACK IN MIDFIELD
“I think every player has to bring a high amount of energy to the game. We want to press high, we play at a high intensity and we want to run over the opposition.
“This is the position I’ve played in all my life, so I’m happy to be back in midfield. But I did feel like I’d transitioned to wing-back, but the gaffer wanted me back in the centre and I’m just happy to be playing in the team, I’ll play anywhere.”
THE STYLE OF FOOTBALL
“He hasn’t got us playing massively different, but he does want us to try and be braver and play through the lines more. It was very direct at times last season.
“But he wants us to still be winning games. That’s the key. So we’ll do whatever it takes to get a victory, whether that’s by passing through teams or going long. Our defending has been solid in all three games so far, which is massive.”
ON LUTON TOWN
“We are focused on us. We are focused on bringing our approach to the game, concentrating on what we can do, not what Luton might be doing.
“We’ve made a great start to the season, we plan to kick on from what we did last year and with our confidence really high, we’ve nothing to fear from anyone in this division.”
