Austrian midfielder departs Oakwell by mutual consent.
Barnsley Football Club can confirm the departure of midfielder Marcel Ritzmaier, who has left the Reds by mutual consent.
The 28-year-old joined the Club in January of 2020 and made 22 appearances, helping us achieve safety in the Sky Bet Championship in the 19/20 season.
Ritzmaier would soon return to his homeland, joining Rapid Wien on-loan for the majority of last season.
It has now been decided that his future lies elsewhere, and the Club would like to thank Marcel for his efforts and wishes him the very best of luck in his future endeavours.
