PICK UP YOUR COVENTRY CITY EDITION OF GROVE STREET

13 August 2021

Our first home Sky Bet Championship matchday is just around the corner, that means there’s an issue of GROVE STREET available for you to feast your eyes on.

There’s been a slight tweak to the design for the new campaign, but the content remains as good as ever and, of course, it’s entirely exclusive, so you won’t be able to read it anywhere else!

It’s only fitting that the cover star to kick off the 21/22 term is your Player of the Year, MICHAŁ HELIK, who enjoyed a magnificent debut season in South Yorkshire.

The towering centre-back discusses his Euro 2020 exploits with Poland, reflects on our wonderful campaign last time out where we flirted with promotion and looks ahead to what the Reds can achieve over the coming months.

We also sit down with BEN WILLIAMS in our ‘A-Z’ feature where he answers a variety of different quirky questions that provide some interesting answers.

Under the spotlight in terms of our academy stars is young midfielder CONNOR HODGSON, who signed his first-year pro contract in the summer. A versatile player, he featured regularly for both our U18s and U23s side towards the end of last season and is hopeful of a positive year under Martin Devaney.

Away from football, GROVE STREET took a very short trip to THE MOUNT as we reignite a popular feature from the early editions last season and shine a light on the local hospitality sector. Pubs, bars, restaurants and cafés have struggled over the past year due to the pandemic, but everyone is eager to welcome Reds fans back through the doors.

As ever, we focus on our opponents, COVENTRY CITY, with eight pages dedicated to the visitors from the west Midlands, including a view from the opposition corner and LEIGH EDWARDS’ take on former Sky Blues managers.

NEIL RICHARDSON returns with an unsung heroes column and his first piece focuses on former Red, Josh Scowen.

We also have fan photos to look out for, a section dedicated to our Junior Reds and club legend, BARRY MURPHY, pens his first column of the season.

A jam-packed edition to start the new campaign!
