BLUES VISIT DESIGNATED AN ALL-TICKET CLASH

20 August 2021

Ahead of our final home fixture this month, a decision has been taken after consultation with South Yorkshire Police.

Following police advice we have restricted the North Stand capacity for visiting supporters to 2,057 for the upcoming fixture against Birmingham City on Saturday 28 August, kick-off 3pm.

Therefore, the decision has been taken to make this an ALL-TICKET fixture for both home and away supporters with no facility to purchase tickets on the day of the game.

In addition to the advice from South Yorkshire Police, we, like many other clubs across the country are struggling to recruit, train and assess stewards to fall in line with current demand. Due to the pandemic, the stewarding industry has seen a large amount of people leave due to the lack of work and so whilst we are doing everything we can to accelerate this process, it is likely that this problem will persist for the next few weeks or months.

We have therefore had to take the tough decision to restrict the numbers of away fans in the short term. We will not compromise on public safety and are committed to ensuring this problem is overcome as quickly as possible.

Ticket sales for the Blues clash will end at 3pm on Friday 27 August. In addition, only supporters with a previous Barnsley Football Club booking history will be able to purchase tickets for this fixture in home areas.
