Barnsley FC can confirm that Jacob Brown has completed a permanent transfer to Stoke City for an undisclosed fee.
The forward departs having made 82 appearances in all competitions, scoring 12 goals.
Progressing through the youth system at Oakwell, Brown made his senior debut for the Reds at Griffin Park 2016 and went on to make significant contributions at first team level. Performances during the promotion season of 18/19 endeared him to supporters, who in-kind nicknamed him the ‘Star Man’.
The decision to sell Brown has been made reluctantly, with the Yorkshire-born forward putting pen to paper on a three-year-deal in 2019.
Monies received upfront will be immediately reinvested into the team, as Gerhard and his squad set out on another Sky Bet Championship campaign.
Barnsley Football Club would like to deeply thank Jacob for his efforts whilst at Oakwell and wish him well in his future career.
