ISAAC CHRISTIE-DAVIES SIGNS FOR THE REDS!

7 September 2020

Isaac Christie-Davies has today joined Barnsley Football Club, signing a three-year deal with the Reds ahead of the 20/21 season!

Having beaten off competition from rival Sky Bet Championship clubs, we are today delighted to announce the arrival of dynamic midfielder Isaac Christie-Davies with the 22-year-old putting pen to paper on a three-year contract with a further 12-month option in the Club's favour.

The Brighton-born central midfield player joins the club as a free agent, after recently leaving Premier League champions, Liverpool FC.

Welsh U21 international Isaac appeared for the Anfield-based outfit on three occasions last term before joining Belgian side Cercle Brugge on loan; a move that was hampered by injury.

A product of the famed Chelsea FC youth system, Christie-Davies formed part of their successful FA Youth Cup winning team as well as lifting the U19s UEFA Youth League in 2016.

He would make one first-team appearance with the London giants before making the move to Anfield in January of 2019.

Now looking to make his mark at Oakwell, the box-to-box operator was naturally enthused when speaking to us immediately after signing on the dotted line.

“I’m really pleased to be here. As soon as I heard of the interest, I wanted to get it done.

“I watched a lot of Barnsley from last season and I was really impressed with the high-pressing style and having spoken to the gaffer, I think I’ll fit into his system.

“There seems a real good team spirit here. That togetherness really appeals to me.”

As we edge ever closer to the opening game of the new Sky Bet Championship campaign, Reds CEO, Dane Murphy told us of his pleasure in adding another emerging young talent to the squad.

"Isaac has real pedigree and we feel that under the guidance of Gerhard Struber, he can prove to be a key part of our Club going forward.

"He's strong, athletic and hungry to make his mark in the professional game.

"There was lots of interest in Isaac, as you'd expect. So we are delighted to get this one over the line."
