The players have kicked off their mission to call every current seasonal member over the phone, and now they're getting competitive!
As we recently announced, the Barnsley FC first team squad are now giving Seasonal Members from the 2019/20 campaign a call to find out how they've been getting on during these testing times.
Straight from training, the 25 players - in five groups of five - are heading into specially organised areas of Oakwell and spending time on the phone with you, our loyal fanbase as the return of football edges ever closer.
There have been some great conversations already, with a lot of good humour as players and fans share their memories of time spent under lockdown so far.
Also, In a bid to ensure all supporters are able to access relevant updates, the players have been provided with information regards entitlement for 2019/20 Members and our new 2020/21 packages.
But now, with rivalries restored and that will to win back on the agenda, the lads have set up a competition!
The player who makes the most of his daily calls will be declared "Champion of the Fans", and will sign a brand new 2020/21 shirt to give to a lucky supporter. Those who finish second and third will also add to the prize pot!
But we are going to need your help too.
Once contacted by a member of our first team, supporters will receive emails asking if they have managed to speak directly to a player, who the player is, and if they are committing to a season ticket.
With every answer we will add points to a leaderboard. One point for making connection with a supporter. Three points if that connection secures a 20/21 season ticket commitment. Our supporters can engage and follow the competition’s progress until we crown a winner!
Once the all-important leaderboard is live, we will inform supporters.
