Further information amidst the developing circumstances regards COVID-19.
During this difficult time, Barnsley Football Club must continue to put the health and wellbeing of players and staff at the fore.
Following CEO, Dane Murphy’s statement on Friday afternoon, Barnsley FC have made the decision to allow both players and football staff to undertake a period of individual training away from Oakwell.
In the wake of the suspension of EFL fixtures due to the COVID-19 virus, Head Coach, Gerhard Struber and his backroom staff have tailored specific programmes for each player to ensure that the squad are best prepared for their scheduled return to action in April.
Whilst players and staff are off-site, the club will undertake a comprehensive antibacterial clean, to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
All at Oakwell appreciate the continued backing from Reds fans, however the Club must continue to ask that supporters do not shake hands with any players, or ask players and coaches to sign autographs or pose for photos until further notice. Also, in line with public health guidance, all scheduled player visits have also been postponed.
Barnsley FC will continue to liaise with relevant authorities and will update supporters with further developments.
Thank you for your understanding and stay safe.
