Chief Executive Officer, Dane Murphy is appreciative of the support he has received from both supporters and staff over the last week.

It has been a difficult period not only for Barnsley FC, but the entire footballing community and country at large. Heeding Government and NHS advice,  we have put a number of measures in place to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading at Oakwell, as the safety of staff and supporters is paramount.

The playing staff will continue to remain away from Oakwell as we await an update from the EFL as to how the season will play out. Naturally, we all look forward to football returning, however public health and well-being  is of the upmost importance.

I’d like to thank you all for your understanding and please stay safe.

Barnsley FC will continue to liaise with relevant authorities and will update supporters with further developments.
