New Contract For Rudi Pache

5 June 2020

Barnsley Football Club is delighted to announce that Rudi Pache has signed a new three-year deal that will keep him at Oakwell until at least 2023.

The central defender was a regular for Martin Devaney in the U23s this campaign before an injury sustained in the FA Youth Cup clash with Birmingham curtailed his season.

Still only 17-years-old, Pache has shown remarkable progress since joining the club in 2018 and was integral for our U18s during the 2018/19 Professional Development League campaign, making 25 appearances as Tom Harban’s side finished sixth.

He made his U23s debut in a 2-1 victory at Sheffield Wednesday in November 2018, coming from the bench to replace Romal Palmer with ten minutes remaining and has since gone on to feature a further 13 times for Devaney’s squad.

The youngster has also trained with the first team outfit as Reds’ Head Coach Gerhard Struber continues to cast an eye over the talent within the Oakwell academy.

Barnsley FC, Chief Executive, Dane Murphy said: “We are thrilled that another young player has pledged their future to the Club. Rudi is an outstanding talent and it is another example of our dedication to ensure that our best prospects can continue their development at Oakwell, following in the footsteps of Elliot Simoes and Romal Palmer, as we build not just for the present but the future as well.”

All at Oakwell would like to congratulate Rudi on his new contract and wish him luck.
