Season ticket holder banned for social media abuse.

Barnsley Football Club have banned a season ticket holder from attending matches after becoming aware of a racist remark on social media, directed towards a player.

The individual will be educated about their actions on a Diversity Awareness course, ran by Reds in the Community, as well as receiving a ban from attending all fixtures.

The Club will not stand for any form of discrimination. The work of our own Reds in the Community programmes combined with ‘Kick It Out’ is paramount in removing any form of discrimination from our beautiful game.

We are continually reviewing all available CCTV and will continue our efforts in eradicating any offensive behaviour at Oakwell. Any supporter found to be participating in what has been clearly communicated as offensive chanting or behaviour, can expect to be removed from the ground and issued with a ban, as well as facing criminal prosecution.
