Dear Reds Fan,
As a 20/21 seasonal member, we are contacting you regarding the return of fans to sports stadia.
Whilst at present we find ourselves in 'Tier Three' of the Government’s restrictions, therefore unable to grant access to supporters, we feel it is sensible to move forward so that when restrictions are lifted, we are in a position to welcome fans back to Oakwell immediately.
Once South Yorkshire enters ‘Tier Two’, legally, we will be permitted to welcome 2,000 supporters into the stadium. If at any point we fall in to ‘Tier One’, we will be able to allow 4,000 supporters into live fixtures. However, before we are permitted to host supporters, we must follow regulation and hold a ‘pilot event’. This number will be limited to 1,000 fans.
Alongside internal club meetings throughout the last two months, conversations held with governing bodies, stakeholders and supporter representative groups all concluded in agreement that the fairest method to determine seasonal member access is by way of a balloting system.
Supporters who register their desire to attend will be entered automatically into the ballot. Those who are successful will be sent a digital ticket and instructions of how the ‘matchday experience’ will differ from previously.
Those who are unsuccessful in a ballot will receive an iFollow streaming code and will have priority to attend for the following fixture.
Due to restrictions, this is for 20/21 seasonal members only.
What do we need from you?
We need you to let us know firstly, if you wish to physically attend the reduced capacity fixtures at Oakwell. Secondly, we need to who would you like to be ‘bubbled’ with. The easiest way to notify us is to head to www.eticketing.co.uk/barnsleyfc and select the ‘Matchday Bubble’ game.
By selecting a ticket(s) in this game you are notifying us you wish to be considered for all future ballots. By adding other supporters within your online network to your application you are notifying us who you wish to sit with.
Your ‘bubble’ can contain a maximum of 6 supporters (including yourself). Full details of how to add other supporters to your online network and to your bubble application can be found in the FAQ section.
If you do not wish to attend games during the initial period, you don’t need to do anything. We will continue to send you iFollow codes.
When the ballot is run everyone within your ‘bubble’ will either be successful or unsuccessful, the group will not be split. There is no detriment to either attending alone with a bubble of one or attending with family with a bubble of up to six. The ballot system will look at lead client. If the lead client is successful everyone within their bubble will be selected.
Supporters need to notify us if they wish to attend future fixtures before 12 noon on Wednesday 16th December 2020.
