Defender returns for a second spell with the Reds!
We are delighted to announce that 20-year-old full back Kilian Ludewig has re-signed for Barnsley Football Club on loan for the whole of the forthcoming 20/21 season.
Ludewig spent the second half of last season at Oakwell, playing a key role in Gerhard Struber's side as the Reds fought their way to Sky Bet Championship safety.
Appearing 18 times after arriving in January, the German youth international defender now returns for a second spell in Barnsley, making the move from Austrian Bundesliga champions, Red Bull Salzburg.
Energetic, combative and a real athlete, 'Kili' impressed last season with his ability to play on either side of the backline whilst always looking to push on and join the attack.
Reds Chief Executive Officer, Dane Murphy was pleased to see Ludewig back on Grove Street:
"It's superb business for the Club, to have such a highly-regarded young talent with us again.
"Kilian was outstanding in his adaptation last season. He was here on loan, but you wouldn't have noticed, such was his attitude in and around Oakwell. He really enjoyed being with us, and it was a no-brainer for the Club once we had the opportunity to bring him back.
"We look forward to him continuing his time as a Red, and want to thank everyone at RB Salzburg for trusting us with his development."
