Three of our local non-league clubs are in FA Cup action this week.

With non-league clubs now able to admit a number of spectators, this comes at a good time for Athersley Rec who welcome Charnock Richard on Tuesday 1 September, in a 7.45pm KO.

The Penguins can accommodate up to 300 supporters for this Extra Preliminary round tie of this season's Emirates FA Cup. The Rec are charging just £5 for adults and £3 concessions for this clash at their Sheerien Park home.

In the same competition, and on the same evening, Hemsworth Miners Welfare are in action away at Hebburn Town. If they were to get beyond their hosts they would face Pontefract Collieries in the next round.

And the last club of our local trio in FA Cup action are Penistone Church who also face an away trip. They head to Skelmersdale United on Tuesday evening.

There's around £1,600 in prize money guaranteed to those making it into the Preliminary Round of this year's competition.

Good luck to all of our local sides this week!
