Preparations for the 20/21 Sky Bet Championship campaign have been finalised.

Gerhard Struber and his squad will be at Oakwell on Thursday 13 August for COVID-19 testing, before returning the following day to officially commence pre-season training.
Following three days in South Yorkshire, the Reds will depart for the FA’s national football centre, St George’s Park on Monday 17 August, spending a period of time preparing for the new campaign in different surroundings.
Pre-Season Friendlies
Sky Bet League One side, Crewe Alexandra, will be Barnsley’s first 20/21 pre-season opponent. Whilst the game will be played away from Oakwell, the exact time and date are yet to be confirmed.
The Reds are then set to face Premier League opposition in Newcastle United on Saturday 29 August, in a 3pm kick-off. The fixture will be played at the Magpies’ training ground, behind closed doors.
We appreciate that pre-season fixtures (and training sessions) make for interesting viewing, but during these difficult times, when we play, please stay away.
It is imperative for the safety of yourself, players and staff that you do not attempt to access Oakwell or any other venues that the Reds are playing at.
