Write For The Reds: World Cup Final At Oakwell!

8 April 2020

England won the World Cup in 2022, can they do it again in 2030... at Oakwell?

World Cup 2030 Final - Match Report

This years World Cup final, hosted at Oakwell Stadium, was an enthralling battle between Germany and England. Germany went into the match looking for their 15th reign of the cup, unlike England who were searching for only their 3rd final win in the history of the competition.

With Oakwell sold out, here is what the England fans said pre- match:

"We have a fantastic chance this year, and will surely win this year with flying colours" said one fan.

"Course we can easily win!" said another.

Both teams played well in the previous stages in the cup, but Germany managed more wins than England throughout the competition, but England scored more goals. In the last match, England beat Belgium in a penalty shootout and weren't looking to be involved in another one.

Germany cruised to victory in their last match, beating Argentina by 3 goals to 1.

The Match

In the first ten minutes, England dominated and troubled the German back line. But after 5 dreadful minutes for Germany, things improved rapidly. They had a legendary chance from the penalty spot.

Timo Werner (retiring next season) took it and scored! 0-1 With England losing and performing second best, drastic changes had to be made. Sure enough, Gareth Southgate, the England manager, made many substitutions.

15 minutes left and England were in the driving seat, creating many chances but not taking them. Finally, England's determination payed off and they scored a late equaliser! 1-1 Germany's performance was nowhwere near the quality of their opposition's and it looked like England would snatch a late comeback.

GOALLLLLL!!!! England scored extremely late on in the match and stole the World Cup off Germany!

England are the new conquerers of the world!
