FA Cup Heroes Of 1912 Inducted Into The Oakwell Hall Of Fame

24 April 2020

On the 108-year anniversary of our major trophy success, we are digitally inducting the 1912 FA Cup winners into the Oakwell Hall Of Fame!

On April 24th 1912, Barnsley FC - led by their captain, Dundee-born full back Archie Taylor - travelled just down the road to Bramall Lane, Sheffield and came home with the grandest of prizes - The Football Association Challenge Cup.

Harry Tufnell's winner in the last two minutes of extra time saw off West Brom in the replayed final and having been denied by Newcastle United just two years earlier at the same stage of the oldest cup competition in world football, the Reds were FA Cup winners!

Arthur Fairclough's team is legendary, and now they are rightly honoured, joining an exclusive list of names to enter the Oakwell Hall Of Fame.
