Cauley Woodrow wins October's vote for Goal of the Month!

8 November 2019

Your votes see the Reds striker's second goal at West Brom as October's Goal of the Month!

Cauley Woodrow's left-footed screamer away at West Bromwich Albion has come out on top in our monthly search for the best goal.

After winning the award in August and again in September, the six-goal striker makes it a hat-trick with this one in the bag as well after getting 88% of the votes.

The Reds' top scorer finished off a flowing team move that had begun right down in the corner nearest to the Barnsley goal, and after Dimitri Cavaré had won the ball, the Reds moved it from back to front, with Woodrow himself involved, along with Bambo Diaby, Cameron McGeehan, Jacob Brown and subsequent to Cauley striking it into the bottom corner from 25 yards, Alex Mowatt who assisted the goal.

Woodrow thanked both the fans for voting and his teammates for the award.

He told barnsleyfc.co.uk: "I'm buzzing with the award, a third on the spin! But I have to thank the lads because that was the perfect team goal. Just a shame we didn't get the win our performance deserved on the night.

"Thanks of course to all who voted too."

Cauley will be presented with his trophy at Oakwell on Saturday.
