Ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture, Barnsley Football Club and Stoke City will acknowledge Remembrance Day and pay tribute to the sacrifice made by so many, and thus we ask that all supporters kindly take their seats in a timely manner.
Before both sides honour a moments silence, friend of the Club, John Hopkinson, will play a rendition of 'The Last Post’ whilst serving members of the Military (representing both Clubs) will respect the fallen and place poppy wreaths on the centre circle.
Like so many throughout the EFL, our special edition home shirts will once again feature the traditional poppy.
The match-worn shirts will be signed and made available to all supporters to purchase in an online auction in the days after the game, with all proceeds donated to the Royal British Legion.
Also, members of the Barnsley Sea Cadets will be in attendance before kick-off, selling poppies and special club commemorative badges outside the ground and in the concourse.
