Saturday’s game was dedicated to remembering the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces community. The team proudly wore poppies on their shirts, which are now available to bid on through an online auction.
This year was the first time that shirts were auctioned off live from kick-off. This meant that fans could start bidding on their favourite shirt(s) as soon as the first whistle blew. All poppy shirts will be personally signed by the relevant player and will be offered unwashed – so all grass and mud stains are still in there. The auction closes four days after kick-off, on Wednesday at 3PM. All bids made are inclusive of worldwide secured shipping and payment handling fees – so no hidden costs, with all proceeds going to The Royal British Legion’s vital work supporting the Armed Forces Community.
