Striker extends his Oakwell stay!

Barnsley Football Club are delighted to announce that Cauley Woodrow has extended his contract at Oakwell until 2022.

After joining the Reds in the summer of 2018, the striker netted 19 goals in 36 appearances, finishing level and sharing the Golden Boot award with fellow striker Kieffer Moore. His long-range strike against Peterborough United on Boxing Day was voted by the fans as the ‘Goal of the Season’, with some stiff competition!

Woodrow will be returning to a division he knows well in the Sky Bet Championship, having previously made over 70 appearances in the second tier, as well as also playing in the Premier League.

After extending his contract, Woodrow told barnsleyfc.co.uk:

“I’ve loved my time at Barnsley so far. I signed initially because the club said they wanted to get promotion and would do everything they could to achieve that, which we have. The squad of lads here is great and on a personal level, I’ve had a good season. We’ll all have a good break over the summer now and come back ready to attack the Championship.

“I’m pleased I can commit my future to Barnsley until 2022, we’ve got a good squad and I am looking forward to more time here. I also want to thank the fans who have been top class with me, we’ve got a really good relationship and they deserve to have the success that we have had this year.”
