Brown: "It was another big game to win."

13 January 2019

Rewarded by his coach for his performances in training, Jacob Brown returned to the starting lineup against Bradford and after scoring his first Oakwell goal he spoke to the assembled media.

The 20-year-old forward has had to operate in a variety of positions this season, but from his position on the right wing, he was perfectly placed to meet Alex Mowatt's cross at the far post in yesterday's 3-0 victory over Bradford to head in his third goal of a breakthrough campaign for the Academy product.

"It came to the back stick and me and Kieffer were both there," Brown explained, post-match.

"I didn’t push him out the way but, if I didn’t score, he wouldn’t have been happy.

“It was another big game to win. We knew they were in good form but we’ve been in good form as well so it was good to get another win.

“We played well as a team, the defence was quality again with another clean sheet which gives us a lot of confidence going forward to take more risks. We played some good stuff and scored good goals."
