Barnsley U23s travel to Crewe Alexandra on Monday afternoon looking to keep up their run of fine form in the Professional Development League.
The young Reds have won six of their last seven games and showed incredible resilience to come from 3-1 down in their last outing to salvage a dramatic point against Hull City.
After just two wins from their opening nine fixtures, Crewe hit a purple patch and went onto win seven of their next 12 matches – losing just two of those – to climb to fourth in the table.
However, Barnsley will take confidence from the fact that Alex have kept just one clean sheet all campaign and have shipped 34 goals in the process. Four of those came in the reverse fixture as the Reds raced into a three-goal lead at Oakwell back in September.
Martin Devaney will be hoping for a similar start to this encounter at Reaseheath Training Complex, while also showing the same defensive discipline that has seen his side keep three clean sheets in five games.
Barnsley will have to be wary of the threat posed by Oliver Finney and Lewis Reilly, who have 17 goals between them this season.
Midfielder, Finney, has featured 11 times for the first team this term and made his Crewe debut in May 2017. Striker, Reilly, has recently returned from a loan spell at Curzon Ashton having impressed further down the non-league pyramid at Halesowen Town earlier this campaign.

Kick-off at 1pm.
