Barnsley U23s travel to Hull City on Friday evening looking to bounce back from Tuesday’s defeat to Sheffield United.
The young Reds were narrowly edged out 1-0 in the South Yorkshire derby, despite dominated for large spells and enjoying the better chances in poor conditions at the Oakwell Training Ground.
However, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance and Martin Devaney’s side will be confident ahead of the Professional Development League fixture at the East Riding FA.
Last season, Barnsley staged a dramatic comeback against the Tigers by coming from two goals down to snatch a point in a thrilling 3-3 draw at the start of 2019.
That was the last time both sides met, with the Reds triumphing 1-0 earlier in the 2018/19 campaign courtesy of Jordan Barnett’s stunning free-kick.
Hull come into this game having not won in their last three outings and picking up just one point, which has seen them drop to eighth in the table.
Tickets are available to purchase upon arrival at the East Riding FA and are priced at £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.
