Barnsley Football Club have once again teamed up with Weston Park Cancer Charity to launch the upcoming Weston Park Cancer Charity Day at Oakwell, on Saturday 27th April.
In honour of the relationship Barnsley FC have with Weston Park, the Reds’ penultimate Sky Bet League One fixture of the campaign has been designated as ‘Weston Park Takeover Day’. Members of the charity and volunteers will be engaging with fans to raise awareness for the charity and the work it does in the Barnsley area.
Defender, Adam Jackson is immensely proud to be sponsored by the Cancer Charity and is once again, fully committed to making the day a success.
“The statistics speak for themselves. By 2020, it’s expected that one in two people will be affected by cancer at some point. So perhaps now more than ever, we must keep pushing for new ways of raising awareness and funds. Therefore, it’s fantastic to welcome Weston Park back to Oakwell and highlighting the treatment and care they distribute throughout Barnsley.”
As the region’s only specialist cancer hospital, Weston Park provides care for thousands of patients across South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire, including over 2,300 patients from Barnsley.
