BE RED Vs Blackpool

27 April 2019

Barnsley face Blackpool in our final home game of the Sky Bet League One campaign, and, as ever, this edition of BE RED is jam-packed with exclusive content!

We sat down with Reds’ Head Coach DANIEL STENDEL to get an in-depth interview about his time in South Yorkshire. The German has captured the hearts of everyone at Oakwell this season with his passionate displays on the touchline, while implementing a breath-taking brand of football that has propelled his side to within touching distance of an immediate return to the Championship.

That means programme notes have been assigned to PAUL CONWAY, who reserves special praise for you, the supporters, for your unwavering dedication over the course of what has been a memorable campaign. Our Co-Chairman also discusses the season as a whole, and pays tribute to the coaching staff and players for their efforts in the promotion chase.

We have eight pages dedicated to this weekend’s visitors from Bloomfield Road where you can get the lowdown on the Seasiders’ squad, while also reading about DAVE COPPING’s connection.

There are two art features in this edition of BE RED, with NEIL RICHARDSON’s piece depicting the Barnsley faithful, while BEN MOSLEY continues his story behind the Ponty End Mural.

MARTIN DEVANEY gives his thoughts on a tremendous campaign for our U23s, who ended the season with just one defeat in 16 games. The former Reds winger eulogised his squad for a number of brilliant performances – particularly after Christmas when they turned their form around.

Our REDS ABROAD feature is a heart-warming story about a Barnsley fan who upped sticks to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After being diagnosed with Interstitial Lung Disease, this incredible Red has undergone a double lung transplant and is at Oakwell on Saturday to cheer Stendel’s side on against Blackpool.

We also have our LADIES round-up after they smashed eight past Crewe Alexandra last week while, in COMMUNITY news, striker KIEFFER MOORE has been named PFA Community Champion – read his interview on page 44.

This edition of BE RED is also our dedicated WESTON PARK CANCER CHARITY takeover programme, and we have another inspiring story about a supporter who rang the end of treatment bell. Details on how to donate to this incredible cause can be found inside.

All of this and much more in our Blackpool edition of BE RED which can be purchased for just £3 from in and around Oakwell.
