Open from 1.30pm and based in the Investment Room East Stand Upper, the newly refurbished Family Zone is the best place for young children to sit and experience the match.
The Family Zone will be a regular host to a number of exclusive and child friendly activities for the entire family to get involved with throughout the season. There is also a unique catering menu, featuring special options created specifically for children. All activities will be run pre-match, and once the action is underway, they will be carefully stored until the next home fixture.
Take a look at what we've got in store for you this weekend:
1. Mick Hollinworth – Caricaturist
Back by popular demand! Mick will be in his usual site, drawing Reds fans in his customary style. Prints are free and a drawing normally only takes 5 minutes from start to finish! If you see him, be sure to take a memento of your day at Oakwell with you.
2. First Aid Course
In the first of nine sessions, Mark Otley from Arko Training will be running through general First Aid queries, demonstraiting how children can check for injuries before showing how children can use the recovery position. If you attend and complete the session, a course specific certificate will be awarded!
3. Meet Toby Tyke
No visit to Oakwell would be complete without meeting our mischievous mascot, Toby Tyke. Toby will be prowling around the Family Zone prior to kick-off, so be sure to grab him for a selfie and hi-five.
4. Giveaways
Across the course of the 2018/19 season, a number of items will be given away in the Family Zone. This week Reds midfielder, Kenny Dougall has signed a number of pictures for supporters to pick up in the Family Zone - FOR FREE!
5. Experience Upgrade
Every week, one lucky fan who has a ticket for the Family Zone will be randomly selected to receive an ‘experience upgrade’. This week we have an opportunity for fans to get closer to Barnsley FC and Sky Bet League One than ever before.
One lucky fan will accompany the referee on to the pitch and be present for the all-important coin toss! As per last week, a member of Barnsley FC staff will be on the concourse from 2.30pm to select a lucky fan!
6. Fun & Games
Love playing pool? Reckon you can beat your family at Connect 4? The Family Zone will have a number of other activities for children to engage with. This will range from a colouring station, through to table football and Connect 4.
