The Reds have teamed up with local brewers, Barnsley Brew to give supporters a local ‘cup o tea’...
Available from the refreshment outlets based in the concourses at Oakwell and available for only £2, fans will be able to enjoy Barnsley Brew as nature intended, on the terraces, watching Daniel Stendel’s side.
The process on designing a unique drink, exclusively for the football took the consumption of 300 cups of tea as the brewers decided between two blends. In the end, one blend won by a landslide.
Commercial Manager Ian Leech is delighted to welcome Barnsley Brew to Oakwell: “It’s great that Barnsley Brew are now a part of Oakwell. We as a Club are proud of our values, where we come from and this latest edition to matchday catering certainly expresses that mentality.”
It’s not just us who recognize the importance of our club, Daniel Ibbotson, sales and marketing manager at Barnsley Brew said: “When we moved into the Barnsley area, it became apparent how much the football club is at the heart of this community. The support and drive from the football club is key to the on-going promotion of our of brand of tea.”
“Over the next couple of months fans will begin to see the Barnsley Brew Tea brand appear in more local caters and retailers. The specifically developed blend has such a strong and full-bodied taste that we say you should close your eyes and try a sip and imagine Barnsley.“
The new ‘brew’ will be available in the concourse refreshment outlets on Saturday, as Barnsley face Gillingham in Sky Bet League One.
