The September nominations for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month Award are:
Jamal Lowe (Portsmouth) - winger
Not to be outdone by fellow Pompey wide man Ronan Curtis who was nominated last month, Lowe was everywhere in August, claiming three goals and three assists with his mobility, pace and willingness to get into the box.
John Marquis (Doncaster Rovers) - striker
Six goals in five games for the prolific forward who is loving life in Rovers’ new-look attack, which perfectly suits his mobility and adventure. His goals were easy on the eye, too, the best of which was a deft chip at Peterborough.
Kieffer Moore (Barnsley) – striker
Three goals in four games for the rampaging frontman who continues to strike fear into defenders with his height, physicality and willingness to shoot from everywhere - as he did with a rasping strike in the 3-1 win at Fleetwood.
Jay Spearing (Blackpool) – defensive midfielder
Has brought all his experience and leadership to bear in Blackpool’s impressive start. Protecting the back four, contributing to three clean sheets and spraying passes all over the pitch, he also chipped in with two goals against Bradford.
The winner will be announced at 6am, Friday 5th October!
