MAN IN THE MIDDLE: Derby County (A)

6 May 2018

Our final referee this season has been appointed ahead of the trip to Pride Park this Sunday.

Mr Simon Hooper will take charge of our final Sky Bet Championship game of the campaign when we travel to Derby County on Sunday.

Since officiating his first Football League game in 2008, the 35-year-old has overseen 360 matches - including 315 EFL clashes - brandishing 1,052 yellow cards and 56 red cards in total.

Hooper last refereed our 1-1 draw against Reading earlier this season on 30 December when Ethan Pinnock scored a last minute equaliser at Oakwell.

The Wiltshire-based official last took charge of a Rams’ game when they drew 1-1 at Queens Park Rangers on 6 March.

His previous outing was on 28 April as he oversaw proceedings at the Molineux as champions Wolverhampton Wanderers were held to a 0-0 draw with Sheffield United.

This season, Hooper has shown 124 yellow cards and six red cards in 40 games - including the fiery encounter between Brentford and Middlesbrough at Griffin Park where there were eight bookings and a dismissal.

The assistant referees at Pride Park will be Daniel Robathan and Daniel Lugg, and the fourth official will be Graham Salisbury.
